To another category of the same event:
It is possible to transfer an entry to a shorter distance up to 1 month before the event (July 3, 2025) and within the limit of available places. In this case, no refund will be made.
It is also possible to request the transfer of an entry to a longer distance up to 1 month before the event (July 3, 2025), but the request will not be automatically accepted and will be at the discretion of the race director. The difference of the registration fee for the new category must be paid.
To request changes, you must contact directly by email (info@quitotrail.com) indicating you full name, registration code and the category to which you wish to change.
Transfers are only available if the new distance is not sold out. All category changes are subject to a $15.00 USD fee.
When registering for the Quito Trail by UTMB, runners have the option to subscribe to a refundable registration, which allows you to receive a full refund of your registration fee according to the general terms and conditions of the insurance, which you can find here
The insurance offered for the event is international and any claim for reimbursement must be processed directly with the insurance company
The transfer of quota to another broker will be available until July 3, 2025. After that date, it will not be possible to make any type of change.
The change must be made by each participant from their MyUTMB account and has a cost of US $15.00.
PARTICIPATION POLICY FOR ATHLETES WITH DISABILITIES IN QUITO TRAIL BY UTMB
Quito Trail by UTMB reinforces its commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion with the policy for athletes with disabilities that allows us to encourage the participation of athletes with disabilities in trail running. We align ourselves with the new adapted sport policy that applies to all the events of the UTMB® World Series circuit.
To whom this policy is addressed. This policy will apply to athletes with the following disabilities:
- Visual disability.
- Intellectual disability.
- Physical disability.
Registration Process
- Contact us at info@quitotrail.com with your registration form and including:
- Your ID or CONADIS card.
- Your guide runner's information (full names and IQ).
- We will contact you once your application is accepted and send you the procedure to register and make your payment.
Guide Runner Policy: All athletes with disabilities must be accompanied by a guide runner. They are assigned an additional bib, free of charge, for your guide runner to accompany you throughout the race.
Conditions and requirements:
- The athlete with a disability must be able to move under his/her own motive power for the entire course and within the official time limits.
- Having a guide runner is the responsibility of the athlete with a disability.
- Athletes with visual or intellectual disabilities must have a guide throughout the event.
- Athletes with visual impairment must wear a lanyard at the elbow to be connected to their guide throughout the course.
- Guide runners must ensure sufficient experience to complete the course alongside the runner with a disability.
- The athlete and his guide runner must each carry their own mandatory equipment. The guide runner may only help carry additional equipment necessary for the athlete with a disability and morally support his/her athlete.
- No other outside help or assistance is tolerated. All other race rules apply.
- Athletes may contact the organization if they feel they need other support or assistance.
- The guide runner will not update his UTMB Index and will not receive any Running Stone for his participation.
- The guide runner will not receive a participation kit.
- Registration fee: As established in the Disability Law. Any person with a disability percentage equal to or greater than 30% has a 50% discount on the current registration fee. To benefit from this discount, the interested person must contact by email to info@quitotrail.com attaching their Conadis card or identity card and indicating in which distance they wish to participate. Then, Quito Trail by UTMB will send a discount coupon equivalent to 50% of your registration along with the procedure to use this coupon.
If a race is cancelled or if the event must be organized differently (e.g. one or more races must be cancelled), for any reason beyond the control of PA S.A.S. & UTMB Group, more than 30 days before the start, the registration will be partially refunded. The amount of the refund will be decided in such a way as to allow the organization to meet the irremediable expenses incurred from the date of cancellation.
If a race is cancelled less than 30 days prior to the start or if a race in progress is interrupted for any reason beyond the control of PA S.A.S. & UTMB Group, the registration fees will not be refunded.
Race Release
Acknowledgement of Risk: TOTAL WAIVER OF LIABILITY, INDEMNIFICATION AND WAIVER: I confirm that I have read and voluntarily signed this waiver and agree to assume all risks of loss or damage to property (collectively "property loss"), illness, physical injury or death (collectively "injury") that I may suffer as a result of my participation in the sporting event called Quito Trail by UTMB (the "Competition"). I declare under oath that I do not suffer from any acquired or congenital physical conditions or injuries that could cause disruption to my health or living conditions as a result of participating in this competition. I also declare under oath that before the competition I have had a medical check-up and I am in optimal physical condition to participate in the competition, as well as I assume all the risks associated with the participation in this competition (falls, contact with other participants, consequences of the weather, vehicular traffic, road conditions and/or any other kind of risk that could be caused). I acknowledge and voluntarily accept that neither PA S.A.S., nor the sponsoring brands, nor the places through which the competition passes and/or their controlling, controlled or related companies are responsible or liable for any type of indemnity, claim, cost, damage and/or harm claimed, including and not limited to, damages for accidents, material, physical or psychological or moral damage, loss of profit, caused to me or my beneficiaries, due to and on the occasion of the competition in which I will participate. Having read this declaration and knowing these facts, I release PA S.A.S., the sponsoring brands, the places through which the competition passes and/or their controlling, controlled or related companies and their representatives, authorities, directors and/or shareholders from all and any claim or liability of any kind arising from my participation in this event, even if this liability may arise from negligence or fault on the part of the persons named in this declaration, as well as from any loss, theft and/or robbery that I may suffer. I also declare that they will not be responsible for fires, short circuits, robberies, thefts, acts of God, whatever the cause may be, damage to my health resulting from fights or quarrels of third parties, damage to my health resulting from physical or other conditions, which may occur before, during or after the end of the competition. This declaration shall be to the extent permitted by the law of the Republic of Ecuador to whose jurisdiction I submit. I further declare that I accept any treatment that the medical party deems necessary to administer to me during the competition. I give my informed consent for my mobilisation in the event of an accident and agree to pay the full amount for such mobilisation regardless of the means used. I further give my informed consent for such mobilisation to be requested in the event that I am unable to do so. I also authorise the competition organisers and sponsors to use, reproduce, distribute and/or publish photographs, films, videos, recordings and/or any other means of recording my person taken on the occasion of this competition, without any financial compensation to the participant of this competition. You authorize, by accepting this Policy, that all personal data collected may be used for marketing activities, communication of products and services of Quito Trail by UTMB and/or its associated or affiliated companies, as well as promotional information, statistics, research, invitations to events organized or sponsored by PA S.A.S. and/or its associated or affiliated companies; and other commercial purposes that are in accordance with the laws of Ecuador. Likewise, you authorize that this data may be transferred to any third party including, but not limited to associated or affiliated companies of PA S.A.S. In the 8K Humboldt distance, minors between the ages of 15 to 18 years old on the day of the race will be accepted to participate with a letter of authorization signed by the legal representative of the competitor. It is not necessary to participate with an adult, but it is recommended. Minors between the ages of 11 to 15 will be accepted to participate with the accompaniment of an adult and presenting an authorization form signed by the competitor's legal representative who assumes all responsibility as described in the "TOTAL WAIVER OF LIABILITY, INDEMNIFICATION AND WAIVER" of the person he/she represents. Underage runners must walk the route by their own means without assistance and carrying with them all their obligatory equipment. In case of carrying poles, they must carry them by themselves along the entire route. The accompanying adult must stay with the minor throughout the entire route. I certify that I have read and understood this waiver, that I accept all the terms and conditions set out in this waiver and in the Competition Rules, Terms and Conditions and that I am bound by the authority of the Steering Committee, who may apply the rules in all matters relating to the competition.
