Registration is available directly on the website https://quito.utmb.world/ starting in November 2025 without pre-registration or a lottery.
Registration will be completed through a secure credit card payment to an international payment platform.
Registration will be open to runners with a valid UTMB index for only 48 hours prior to the opening of normal registration in November 2025.
Registration will be open to the general public until July 1, 2026, or until all available spots are filled. There will be no waiting list.
Anyone born in 2008 or earlier (i.e., who is 18 years of age or older on December 31 of the year of the race) may register for the following races: 80K Oso, 50K Nutria, 30K Tucán, and 20K Quinde. Anyone born in 2010 or earlier (i.e., who is 16 years of age or older on December 31 of the year of the race) may register for the 12K Humboldt race.
Minors between the ages of 11 and 17 on December 31, 2026, may register for the 6K Rana race. All minors must submit a letter of authorization signed by the competitor's legal representative, who assumes all responsibility described in the “TOTAL DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY, INDEMNIFICATION, AND WAIVER” of their representative at the time of picking up their race number. This letter must be sent via your UTMB account dashboard by July 1, 2026, or presented at the runner registration desk.
Minors are not required to be accompanied by an adult, but it is recommended.
Minors must complete the route on their own without assistance and carry all their mandatory equipment with them. If they carry poles, they must carry them themselves throughout the entire route.

Although it is not mandatory to present a medical certificate to participate in Ecuador, we recommend that all runners undergo a medical evaluation prior to the competition.
Participating in Quito Trail by UTMB® involves intense physical effort and exposure to high altitude conditions, so knowing your health status is the best way to ensure your safety and fully enjoy the experience.
Consult your doctor or sports medicine center to undergo basic tests and confirm that you are in optimal condition to run.
In order to give fair recognition to high level athletes and to ensure a fair management of entry applications, we reserve places for elite athletes according to their UTMB Index in the category of the race they chose to compete. Elite runners must register during the registration period. No registration will be accepted after the deadline. If the distance is lottery based, the elite runners must register at the same time as other athletes.
Once a distance is sold out, the event organizer has the right to refuse an elite registration.

All participants of Ecuadorian nationality receive a 10% discount on their registration fee. The discount will be automatically applied at checkout. An additional 8% administration fee will be charged. Those administration fees are not refundable in case of cancelation.

The transfer of a spot to another runner will be available until July 1, 2026, provided that the runner receiving the transfer also meets the registration conditions mentioned above. After that date, no changes will be possible.
The change must be made by each participant from their MyUTMB account. A transfer fee of $15 USD will apply. Once the recipient has accepted and completed the payment, the original registration will be canceled.
In order for another runner to use an already assigned bib number, it is mandatory to make the change.
It is possible to change a registration to a shorter distance up to 1 month before the event (July 1, 2026) and within the limit of available places. In this case, no refund will be made.
It is also possible to request a change to a longer distance up to 1 month before the event (July 1, 2026), but the request will not be automatically accepted and will be subject to the limit of available spots. The difference in the registration fee for the new distance must be paid. All distance changes are subject to a $15.00 USD fee.

When registering for Quito Trail by UTMB®, runners have the option of purchasing this cancellation insurance, which allows them to request a refund of the registration fee in accordance with the general conditions of the insurance policy.
This insurance provides international coverage, and any refund requests must be handled directly with the insurance company.
If a request is covered by the insurance conditions and the corresponding supporting documentation is provided, the runner will receive a refund of the registration fee, minus a 10% fee, with a minimum of €15.
Refund without insurance:
If the runner does not subscribe to the insurance, no refund will be possible.

PARTICIPATION POLICY FOR ATHLETES WITH DISABILITIES IN QUITO TRAIL BY UTMB
Quito Trail by UTMB reinforces its commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion with the policy for athletes with disabilities that allows us to encourage the participation of athletes with disabilities in trail running. We align ourselves with the new adapted sport policy that applies to all the events of the UTMB® World Series circuit.
To whom this policy is addressed. This policy will apply to athletes with the following disabilities:
- Visual disability.
- Intellectual disability.
- Physical disability.
Registration Process
- Contact us at info@quitotrail.com with your registration form and including:
- Your ID or CONADIS card.
- Your guide runner's information (full names and IQ).
- We will contact you once your application is accepted and send you the procedure to register and make your payment.
Guide Runner Policy: All athletes with disabilities must be accompanied by a guide runner. They are assigned an additional bib, free of charge, for your guide runner to accompany you throughout the race.
Conditions and requirements:
- The athlete with a disability must be able to move under his/her own motive power for the entire course and within the official time limits.
- Having a guide runner is the responsibility of the athlete with a disability.
- Athletes with visual or intellectual disabilities must have a guide throughout the event.
- Athletes with visual impairment must wear a lanyard at the elbow to be connected to their guide throughout the course.
- Guide runners must ensure sufficient experience to complete the course alongside the runner with a disability.
- The athlete and his guide runner must each carry their own mandatory equipment. The guide runner may only help carry additional equipment necessary for the athlete with a disability and morally support his/her athlete.
- No other outside help or assistance is tolerated. All other race rules apply.
- Athletes may contact the organization if they feel they need other support or assistance.
- The guide runner will not update his UTMB Index and will not receive any Running Stone for his participation.
- The guide runner will not receive a participation kit.
- Registration fee: As established in the Disability Law. Any person with a disability percentage equal to or greater than 30% has a 50% discount on the current registration fee. To benefit from this discount, the interested person must contact by email to info@quitotrail.com attaching their Conadis card or identity card and indicating in which distance they wish to participate. Then, Quito Trail by UTMB will send a discount coupon equivalent to 50% of your registration along with the procedure to use this coupon.
We value and respect the active participation of seniors in our race. We recognize the importance of fostering an inclusive and accessible environment for all participants, regardless of their age.
Registration Discount:
All seniors are entitled to a 50% discount on the current registration fees for our races. This discount applies to individuals over 65 years old.
Procedure to Benefit from the Discount:
To benefit from the 50% registration discount, seniors must follow these steps:
- Send an email to info@quitotrail.com
- Attach a photo of their ID card in the email to verify their age.
Once the information is received and verified, a response email will be sent with the procedure to apply the discount.
If a race is cancelled or if the event must be organized differently (e.g. one or more races must be cancelled), for any reason beyond the control of PA S.A.S. & UTMB Group, more than 30 days before the start, the registration will be partially refunded. The amount of the refund will be decided in such a way as to allow the organization to meet the irremediable expenses incurred from the date of cancellation.
If a race is cancelled less than 30 days prior to the start or if a race in progress is interrupted for any reason beyond the control of PA S.A.S. & UTMB Group, the registration fees will not be refunded.
